How Long To Collect Life Insurance?
- 63333 POINTSview profilePeggy MaceMost of the U.S.There is no limit on how long you have to collect the death benefit on a policy for which you were named beneficiary. There is a time limit for how long you can contest a policy for which denial of benefits was made due to misrepresentation on the application. This varies from state to state.Answered on January 4, 2014flag this answer

If there is a policy which you are the beneficiary but you do not know where or who has the policy, you can go to mib.com, click on find a policy. There is a small fee but if a policy was taken out and underwritten, there should be a record of it's existence.Answered on January 4, 2014flag this answer
