    If you have sent in a check to a life insurance company to pay your premium, the amount of time it takes to clear will depend on the company you sent it to. You can call the customer service number of the life insurance company to inquire if your check has been received.

    There is a grace period of one month past the time the premium is due. If the check is processed during that time, your policy will remain in effect.
