    If the drug overdose was due to suicidal intentions within the first two years of the life insurance policy, the policy would not pay out. After two years, it would most likely pay the death benefit even if the reason for the drug overdose was to commit suicide.

    An exception would be if the insured person had a drug problem that was not admitted where requested on the life insurance application, and if death occurred within two years of the policy going into effect. Again, after two years, the policy would most likely pay even if the drug use/abuse was not admitted on the application.
