Can You Get Life Insurance Without A Job?
- 4249 POINTSview profileGary LanePresident, Lane Independent Agency, Southern CaliforniaYou certainly can, if you have reasonable assets. Otherwise retired folks could not get life insurance, regardless of their wealth and health. The issue may be what is your asset level and can you reasonably pay the premiums. A company may not want to issue a policy to someone asking for ten million dollars coverage and only having a net worth of one hundred thousand. It would be too tempting for them to have themselves killed or do it themselves after two years, in order to have their family gain the wealth. Other than that, the fact that the person may not be employed should not matter. Gary Lane, Agent, New York Life. 949 797 2424.Answered on December 2, 2013flag this answer

If you are a stay at home mom or dad, you can get the amount of life insurance that your spouse or partner has. Your assets do enter in to the amount of life insurance you qualify for, as well.Answered on December 4, 2013flag this answer
