If your lupus is mild and in remission, you can get a medically underwritten life insurance policy rated as good as Standard. The type of lupus, number of years you have had it, medications taken, and flare ups will all enter into the rating. If you have SLE (systemic lupus erythematosus) that has attacked organs, you may need to get a simplified or guaranteed issue policy.

Just about everyone can get some kind of Life Insurance. The most limiting factor is age. Most insurers won't issue a policy on anyone over the age of 80. Some will issue up to age 85. Medical issues can influence the rating and cost of insurance, but there are "Guaranteed Issue" policies that any one can get as long as they aren't over the age limit.
