A life insurance policy can be cancelled by the policyowner.  For term insurance policies, many people will simply stop paying the premiums and allow the policy to lapse on its own since there's no cash value involved.

For permanent insurance programs, there's usually some buildup of cash value inside it that you may want to cash out (the cash value is subject to any remaining surrender charges).  If you're looking to cash out the policy, there's usually going to be a form to fill out and send it - you can contact the insurance company or your agent to get a copy of the form.

You can cancel your Aviva life insurance policy by calling their customer service number, 800-800-9882. When you call, ask if there are any other options for your policy besides cancelling it. You may be able to save some premium by reducing the face amount, or quit paying premiums but still retain some of the death benefit by turning into a reduced paid up policy.
