    Yes, firefighters can get life insurance, as can police officers and other public safety officials. While there are questions asked on most applications about dangerous hobbies (such as parachuting or motorcycle racing), and those answers could cause the policy to be rated up, the occupation of the insured person does not usually enter into the rating. Being a firefighter may restrict their ability to get a waiver of premium due to disability, but not life insurance.
