Generally yes unless they are incarcerated.  Those who have a felony conviction on their legal record are not excluded from purchasing life insurance and generally life insurance companies do not ask about any felony convictions in a proposed insured's history, nor do they ask about any misdemeanor convictions.

Whether or not a felon can buy life insurance depends on several factors, including the age of the felon, and how long ago the felony was committed.

Felons who are on probation or have had a felony within the past 2+ years can get guaranteed issue coverage if they are at least age 40-50. If the felony was longer ago, it may be possible to get a simplified issue or medically underwritten policy.

Contact an agency like ours, that carries a large variety of products and knows the details of what each will take, to find the lowest price policy with a history of felony.
