Will My Homeowners Insurance Cover Foundation Repair?
- 1365 POINTSview profileRobert Attala LUTCF, PFPAgency Owner, A1 Insurance LLC, Arizona, California AgencyGreat Question. Typically home insurance does not cover foundation repair. That type of work is not cover by insurance policy. You may want to check with the person who built your house and see what is the propor way to fix that problem. Also make sure you consult with a licensed contractor as well.Answered on December 16, 2013flag this answer

Damage to a foundation would most likely be the result of earth movement or the entry of outside water (flooding.) Both of those perils are excluded in most homeowner’s policies. Maintenance of the home is also an excluded peril. It is, however, possible that one of the insured perils could damage the foundation and coverage would be available.Answered on October 7, 2014flag this answer
