Will My Homeowners Insurance Cover A Leaky Roof?
- 37376 POINTSview profileDavid G. Pipes, CLU®, RICP®Business Development Officer, T.D. McNeil Insurance Services, Fresno, CaliforniaThe damage caused as the result of a leaky roof is probably covered. The damage to the roof would be covered if caused by a “named peril.” If the roof leak is covered it will be covered as a depreciated item by most insurance companies, rather than replacement. It is important to stop the leak as quickly as possible regardless of whether there is coverage or not. The damage to a house by water can be quite severe.Answered on June 25, 2014flag this answer
