If the peril (the cause of the damage)  is covered by your insurance policy, then the policy will pay to replace the flooring.  The value of the house's flooring is included in the Coverage A (dwelling) limit of your policy because it is considered a permanently installed furnishing of the house.  So, then the question becomes, "Does my homeowners policy provide coverage for damage resulting from (fill in the blank with your peril)?"  You can read your insurance policy to find this information.  The homeowners policy will have a list of covered perils included in the coverage form.  If, after reading that,  you still have a question as to whether the specific cause of your damaged floor is covered, you should contact your local agent and discuss it with him.

It depends what happened to your floor. For example, flooding from tidal water would be excluded under a standard Ho-3 homeowners insurance policy in NY. Wear & Tear is also excluded as well as intentional damage to the floor. Covered perils would include fire, wind, hail, vandalism, damage from a pipe burst and many other perils. If you have an HO-3 policy it would be covered under the dwelling portion of the homeowners insurance policy. Keep in mind you probably have a deductible that will come into play. Always check with your independent insurance agent for coverages that are specific to your policy. Hope this answer has helped you.
