   Homeowners insurance rates are going to vary depending on many factors. A few of those factors are the age of the premise, the valuation of the premise, the geographic location of the premise, the insured's claim history, the building materials used to construct the premise, the distance of the nearest fire department, and the distance of the nearest fire hydrant just to name a few. In my area and based on my experience, I would say the average is around $1000/yr.
