Homeowners insurance is designed to cover your home and possessions if they are damaged in a covered loss or stolen.  It also protects you in a lawsuit.    It is totally different than a home warranty.  A home warranty just covers you for undisclosed problems when you purchase a home.  It does not cover your belongings, structure damage caused by fire, wind or other perils, liability, or theft.
