Ask them to complete a Reconstruction Analysis for the dwelling. They'll need to know the size and style of the building along with any special or particular features including fire places, alarm systems, HVAV systems etc. If the roof has been replaced, knowing when is important because there may be discopunts available. Likewise, discounts may be available for upgraded electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems.Answered on January 28, 2015flag this answer

- 109 POINTSview profileKristen DucharmeCIC, Brooks Robb & Callahan,In order to receive an accurate homeowners insurance quote some of the information that is usually required is the insured's names, dates of birth, property information, i.e. type of heat, square footage, year built. There will also be some questions that will need to be answered regarding the liability portion of your policy, such as do you have a pool, trampoline or dog? The more you disclose to your agent the less likely there will be any surprises after inspection. You will also want to disclose if you have a hard wired generator, leak detection system, or central station alarm system as this may entitle you to credits!!Answered on August 9, 2016flag this answer
