What Happens To Homeowners Insurance When Owner Dies?
- 37376 POINTSview profileDavid G. Pipes, CLU®, RICP®Business Development Officer, T.D. McNeil Insurance Services, Fresno, CaliforniaThe death of the owner will not make any changes to a homeowner’s policy. Normally there are two people named as insureds but the coverage is on the property, not on the life of the owner/insured. Notify the insurance company if the owner dies and have the new owner named on the policy. This should be a minor issue.Answered on August 21, 2014flag this answer
