Is Wood Rot Covered By Homeowners Insurance?
- 7647 POINTSview profileMark Bartlett CLCSBranch Owner, TWFG Insurance Services, Fremont California and the Greater Bay Area Representing Dozens of Insurance CarriersWood rot is something that occurs over a period of time. A loss must be sudden and/or accidental. Since wood rot would not occur suddenly this would fall under general maintenance and upkeep of a homeowner we often call pride of ownership. Any type of normal maintenance and/or wear and tear are not perils of a homeowners insurance policy. If you are not sure as to what caused the wood rot I always recommend to talk to your local agent about the potential loss.Answered on May 28, 2013flag this answer
