Is It Bad To File A Homeowners Insurance Claim?
- 285 POINTSview profileBrian GrussYour Insurance Guy, Avenue Insurance Planners, Liberty Lake, WAYou buy home owners insurance for a reason to protect you from a catastrophe. That being said, after filing a claim on your home owners insurance policy, they may raise your rates or even decide that they (the carrier) no longer want the risk. Personally I would cover out of pocket stuff like some shingles blowing off, or minor stuff, that way there isn't any frivolous claims that you may end up paying for in the future.Answered on June 17, 2014flag this answer
