How To File A Claim Against Homeowners Insurance?
- 37376 POINTSview profileDavid G. Pipes, CLU®, RICP®Business Development Officer, T.D. McNeil Insurance Services, Fresno, CaliforniaAlmost every insurance company provides a toll free telephone number. Use that number to report a claim. If the claim involves personal injury don’t wait a minute. The key is to report those claims as soon as you know about them. You will have time to get all the particulars. If the claim involves a relatively small amount of property damage check with your policy to make sure you understand your deductible. It is also wise to check and see if you are getting a discount for having been “claims free.” These are factors to discuss before submitting the claim.Answered on March 10, 2014flag this answer

HOwever, I personally think that it is a good idea to start by talking to your Insurance Professional about your situation. They will be able to help answer preliminary questions you may have as well as to discuss the specific terms and conditions of your policy. The claims professional will ultimately apply those elements of your policy and make the determination of coverage under them. Naturally, any settlement will be subject to your policy deductible.Answered on November 2, 2015flag this answer
