    Insurance companies usually review your claim history for the past 3 years but some companies are now looking back 5 years. Your rate and eligibility are determined based on the type of claim you had and the amount paid out. It's a tough market for home insurance right now especially with all the catastrophes we've experienced in the last two years. It's always best to talk to your agent first before filing a small claim.
