    Usually not.  A Homeowners Insurance policy will cover a home so long as it is your primary residence and is fully occupied.  Those are two very important provisions that can be found throughout the industry.  If for whatever reason a house is left vacant andsomething happens, then because those two provisions are no longer met, the insurance company can certainly deny coverage.
