Does Homeowners Insurance Cover Downed Trees?
- 12689 POINTSview profileTed RatliffOwner, SFS Associates,While in most cases it will not cover the tree itself it will cover the damage caused by a downed tree and if necessary removal of the tree from the damaged structure. If a tree falls on your house, the damage will be covered and the tree removed. The tree itself will not be replaced.Answered on May 21, 2013flag this answer

ClausenChief Executive Officer, Coastal Homeowners Insurance Solutions, Rocky Point, NY 11778Most insurance policies will require a tree hit something like a house, fence, or another structure for the removal of the tree to be covered. If the tree simply falls down in the yard it will not be covered for removal by most insurance policies. Some policies provide coverage for the value of the tree. You should read your policy or call your local independent insurance agent to find out exactly hose your policy reads. Hope this answer helps.Answered on March 22, 2016flag this answer
