Does Homeowners Insurance Cover Broken Sewer Pipes?
- 16470 POINTSview profileDavid OsgoodAgent, Rural Mutual Insurance Co., Union Grove, WIIt may. Whether or not the broken sewer pipes are covered by your homeowners isnurance policy is going to depend on if the damage was caused by a covered loss. If the broken sewer pipes claim was covered you would also be susecptable to your policy's deductible. Please read your policy completely to find out about the coverage offered and any exclusions that may be contained within or contact your local agent to have them go over the policy wilth you.Answered on September 20, 2013flag this answer

McNeil Insurance Services, Fresno, CaliforniaA homeowner’s policy provides coverage for damage sustained because of “specified perils.” It is very difficult to imagine a situation where this might apply to sewer pipes. The most common conditions that could lead to sewer pipes being cracked is earth movement and flooding and both of these perils are specifically excluded in most homeowner’s policies.Answered on June 6, 2014flag this answer
