Siding to a home could be covered under a homeowner's insurance claim if it was named as a specific peril in the policy. Certainly, damage resulting from wind, tornado and fire would be covered.

However, normal wear and tear and routine maintenance is typically not covered and you would have to pay those repairs yourself.

A homeowner’s policy pays for damage to your home from “named perils.”  If the siding is damaged from a fire or storm, the repairs would be covered.  If the siding falls off because of shoddy workmanship, it wouldn’t be covered because that isn’t a named peril.

That is a great question! The answer would depend upon why you want to file the claim. If you are asking if your policy would pay if you decided that you want to add siding to your home, then most likely not. If you are asking if they will repair damage to the siding, then it will depend upon how the damage was sustained. If it was damaged because of some issue specifically named in your policy ( like a fire, for example) then it would most likely be paid for. If it was any kind of workmanship or wear and tear kind of thing, then most likely it wouldn't be. I hope that helps - thanks for asking!
