It may. Many homeowners policies provide some limited coverage when it comes to pets and may be subject to the policy deductible. Remember every policy is different. Please read your policy completely to understand the coverage provided and any exclusions that there may be or contact your local agent to have them go over the policy with you.

If you have an Ho-3 policy without an exclusion for viscous animals and your animal (likely a dog) does not have a prior bite history the policy will likely respond should your pet bite someone and cause bodily injury. Some policies have specific exclusions for specific breeds. Make sure you read the endorsement carefully and check with your local independent insurance agent before filing a claim. I have not heard of insurance policy covering a "pet" for replacement... meaning if your pet dies or gets injured they will not repair or replace the pet-like they would a couch or other personal property. Hope this answer helps.
