If the heating system in a home is damaged by fire, for example, it would have been caused by a specified peril. If it broke because of age or poor maintenance, it wouldn’t be covered. Those aren’t specified perils. Recently there have been thefts of the tubing going to heat pumps. That would probably be covered.Answered on June 23, 2014flag this answer
