However if the wiring, arcs or causes a house fire then yes, homeowners insurance does cover the damage to the dwelling caused by the electrical wiring. Homeowners insurance does not pay to replace out dated wiring or renovation of wiring. Homeowners insurance is not designed as a maintenance policy.
