Does Home Insurance Cover Broken Water Pipes?

Believe it or not this just happened to a client of mine last week. However if a pipe breaks and the water the pours out damages the dwelling then the dwelling damage would be covered.Answered on June 28, 2013flag this answer

Now, if the pipe just bursts from wear and tear, then the repair or replacement of the pipe itself would not be covered, but the damage caused by the sudden discharge of water would be. If on the other hand, the pipe preaks due to freezing or sudden impact to use just two examples, then not only wou,d the water damage be covered, but so to would the cost to replace or repair that length of pipe.Answered on April 16, 2015flag this answer
