An insurance company considers the premium due prior to the start date of the policy.  However, they routinely offer a variety of payment plans as a convenience to the customer.  Not all companies will accept payment by credit card for a homeowner’s policy, but some do.

Talk to your Insurance Professional about the coverage and payment options that your insurance company offers. Many if not all include Credit Card payment options. These can range from full pay, quarterly, monthly billing and many also offer automatic monthly recurring bank card installment plans. Think about an automatic electronic funds transfer option if your checking account is fairly steady. In many cases, insurance companies will waive their monthly installment fees if this option is chosen. In most cases, I think, you wil find that your insurance company is now offering this along with many payment options because they realize that they need to be as easy to do business with as possible.
