That really depends upon the insurance company and how they are filed with the Insurance Department in your state. Some companies may not write the coverage while others may offer coverage but exclude any injuries resulting from dog bite from the policy. Still others may offer full coverage provided the dog has been through extensive obedience training.

Fair Question. As a dog lover I'm sad to report that getting Home Insurance with some breeds of dogs is extremely difficult.
You have a few options: First off, Consider calling all of the major Captive Insurance Companies. I know of one of them that is most likely to not exclude animals.
Second, you may have to consider purchasing a policy that has an Animal Liability Exclusion. This would exclude all coverage for this and generally any animal.
Lastly, you will have a much better case with this dog if it does NOT have a bite history.
