Insurers are only part of the equation. Your mortgage company or bank who has an interest in your property is going to require that you have a policy in place. In the event that they determine you do not they will have "forced placed " insurance set in motion. That is going to be ultimately more expensive for you and may not have all the coverage nuances that you have now. Talk to an agent before you proceed to cancel a policy and they should be able to assist you.
