Can I Sue My Own Homeowners Insurance?
- 16470 POINTSview profileDavid OsgoodAgent, Rural Mutual Insurance Co., Union Grove, WIBased upon my limited knowledge and experience, I believe that it is possible to sue your homeowners insurance carrier. How effective this action would be is another story. If you have a dispute with your carrier, you could always contact the commissioner of insurance in your state to file a complaint.Answered on October 1, 2013flag this answer

You already have a lawyer on your side it is called your state insurance commissioners office. They are there to help you if you have a complaint about your carrier or your agent . Unfortunately in many cases the issue lies with your agent Sad but thru there are agents out there that are just so focused on selling you a policy that they are not looking at the bigger picture and making sure that you are properly protected. the 1st step you need to take before you go and spend the money to get a lawyer is to call your state commissioners office and talk to them about what it is you feel has been done wrong they will let you know if any laws or rules have been broken and can let you know what you need to do.Answered on October 8, 2013flag this answer
