Where Can I Get Homeowners Insurance If I Live In A High Risk Brush Fire Area?
- 644 POINTSview profileAlex PfeiferOwner, Pfeifer Insurance Brokers, Burlingame, CAMost insurance companies will not insure a home if it is located near brush or is in a wildfire area. Tahoe is in a National Forest so it will be very difficult to get a home insurance policy. You will likely need to use the California FAIR Plan. They will insure your home as long as it's not in need of repairs. Take a look at this site on Brush Fire Insurance for more information. http://www.californiabrushfireinsurance.com/Answered on July 14, 2014flag this answer

Insurance companies may not offer coverage or they may charge a higher premium to reflect the increased risk they are assuming. Talk to your Insurance Professional about your particular situation. If standard coverage just is not available, most states manage a high risk "pool" of coverage that may be there to meet your needs.Answered on July 15, 2014flag this answer
