What To Do If Your Employer Doesn’t Offer Health Insurance?
- 12689 POINTSview profileTed RatliffOwner, SFS Associates,Under the new Affordable Care Act, beginning in October there will be an Open Enrollment Period lasting until March of 2014. During that time you can elect either to go with a private plan or go to the Federal or State Marketplace. If you qualify for a subsidy you will want to consider the Marketplace (otherwise known as the Exchanges). You will be able to apply online or through an agent or navigator certified to sell on the exchange. The details are not yet known. If you are healthy you may want to contact a local health insurance agent and purchase a policy now. It will help save you on rates and you will not have the increased rates until renewal.Answered on June 22, 2013flag this answer
