Some health insurance ID cards are instant (available online) once your coverage has been approved or on the effective date. Most carriers still mail policies, certificates of coverage and ID cards direct to the policyholder.
If cards are mailed you should receive the card within 2-3 weeks of approval of your application or enrollment form.
