How Does Obamacare Affect Medicare?
- 12689 POINTSview profileTed RatliffOwner, SFS Associates,The Affordable Care Act has done a couple things for Medicare recipients. First, it is closing the donut hole in your Prescription Drug Plan thus reducing your out of pocket costs for prescription drugs when you reach the donut hole. It also has instituted free preventative care, allowing access to preventative testing at no cost to the Medicare beneficiary. On the negative side, due to the extra taxes and costs to the providers, Medicare Advantage Plans are being forced to reduce some benefits by increasing copay's and out of pocket limits, and reducing the number of in-network doctors.Answered on October 9, 2013flag this answer
