How Do Health Insurance Agents Get Paid?
- 345 POINTSview profileKurt JacksonRetirement Income Strategist, KJ Financial, Liberty, MissouriTypically a health insurance agent is paid a commission that is based on a certain percentage of the premium paid by the insured. This percentage can vary from carrier to carrier and my even vary from level of plan to level of plan. There are some new restrictions on how much these types of costs can be within the new healthcare law so the commissions should be lower than they were before 2014. Hope this helps.Answered on April 24, 2014flag this answer
