Does Regular Health Insurance Cover Dental Care?
- 260 POINTSview profileBen SimpsonPresident, Simpson Financial Solutions, Omaha, NEAll of the new health care plans are required to have some type child dental coverage available. This would cover anyone 19 years or younger on the plan. The affordable care act plans took effect January 2014, so if you bought a plan during open enrollment from October of 2013 through April of 2014 your plan more than likely has child dental, unless it is a Short Term Major medical or an Indemnity plan. However, every state is different and each company who writes business in a certain state may have coverage for someone over the age of 19. The best thing to do is to call the company and ask for a Summary of Benefits and Coverage and read the details of the plan.Answered on July 15, 2014flag this answer
