Does Health Insurance Cover Transgender Surgery?

    Unless there is a sound Medical reason such as an accident that makes such surgery necessary or perhaps a hermaphrodite situation the answer in most cases would be no, at least I do not know if any company that would cover it.  Transgender surgery is considered elective and is not necessary for the physical health and well being of the individual.
