Effective 1/1/2014 nobody can be denied health insurance in Indiana or any other state in the country.  However, you will need to enroll in a policy during the enrollment period or else you'll be unable to get insurance unless you fall under a special enrollment circumstance.

During Open Enrollment, you can not be denied health insurance in Indiana (assuming you meet eligibility guidelines). The Affordable Care Act (ACA) also provides a federal subsidy that can potentially reduce your premium. The amount is based on household income.

When Open Enrollment ends, assuming you do not have a qualifying event, a short-term policy (which is not ACA-compliant) can be applied for. But you CAN be denied for this type of coverage.
