Can Retirees Deduct Health Insurance Premiums?
- 1450 POINTSview profileFred AdamsThe HSA Expert, Health Revival, Athens, GASince the current tax law only allows health insurance premiums to be deducted by businesses or self-employed business owners. This leaves most individuals that have to pay for the cost of their premiums themselves having to do so with after tax dollars. Unfortunately, there is no additional provision that would enable someone that is retired to also pay their premiums with tax-free dollars.Answered on April 21, 2014flag this answer
