Yes, under the provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare), major medical health insurance policies issued on or after January 1, 2014 cannot deny a person coverage and must cover any pre-existing health conditions immediately. This applies to both the individual and the group heath insurance markets. Therefore, height/weight tables can no longer be used for underwriting a policy and a person cannot be declined for coverage for being obese.
