Is Income From Disability Insurance Taxable?
- 63333 POINTSview profilePeggy MaceMost of the U.S.If you paid for your own Disability Insurance policy with "after tax" money (earnings that you paid taxes on), your income from your Disability Insurance policy should not be taxable. If you need to collect on your Disability Insurance policy, you will be in a circumstance where this will be a very welcome benefit.Answered on October 19, 2013flag this answer

This insurance is designed to keep the income coming in event a person is injured and not able to work. Workers Comp is designed for injury at work only and your own policy can cover you both at home and work. You can have your own even if you are collecting Workers Comp.Answered on February 10, 2014flag this answer
