Is Aflac Disability Insurance Taxable?
- 63333 POINTSview profilePeggy MaceMost of the U.S.If you pay your Aflac Disability Insurance premiums with money that has already been taxed, your benefits are not usually taxed if/when you collect your Disability Insurance benefits. For employer provided Disability Insurance through Aflac or any other company, contact your human resources department to determine if your Aflac insurance benefits are taxable.Answered on September 2, 2013flag this answer

If you paid your premiums with your post tax or after tax dollars then your disability benefits should not be taxed. If your employer pays your premiums and writes them off on the company taxes, then the disability benefits would be taxed as ordinary income and you will receive a 1099 from the insurance company or AFLAC in this case.Answered on July 9, 2014flag this answer
