How to file a disability claim? Having done this myself for two policies a few years back, here's how it goes.

Contact the carrier and ask for paperwork a bit early. They may want to wait until you've met your waiting period. If you know you'll be there longer, just let them know and ask again for the paperwork. Remember, payments for disability claims come at the end of the month, not the beginning.
