Like all insurance, the cost of Disability Insurance varies according to age, health, smoking and weight. In addition, the cost of Disability Insurance is influenced by one's occupation and salary, as well as what features are chosen for the policy. E.g. Just making the elimination period 30 days vs 365 days can double the premium for some policies.

That being said, a 2 year plan for a health 40 year old woman who works at an office job and makes $50,000 per year can run as low as $50 per month.
