How Long Does Disability Insurance Last?
- 15 POINTSview profileSally LawsonIt can last from 6 months to 1 year depending on which policy to signed up for. If it is short term disability it will last 6 months and long term 1 year. Always ask your agent to explain which plans they are discussing with you at the time of your appointment.Answered on July 26, 2013flag this answer

If you select the lifetime option and become disabled during your working years, the policy will last until you retire at age 65. This is even if you go on Social Security Disability.Answered on July 26, 2013flag this answer
