Does Private Disability Insurance Cover Pregnancy?

    Most of the U.S.
    Private Disability Insurance covers time off for complications of pregnancy, but not time off for the pregnancy or childbirth itself. This is true for both private Short Term Disability coverage and private Long Term Disability coverage.  Only Group Short Term Disability ("sick leave") covers normal pregnancy without time off due to complications.
