Do I Need Disability Insurance In Iowa?
- 63333 POINTSview profilePeggy MaceMost of the U.S.Having disability insurance is a good idea in Iowa or in any other of the 49 states in the United States. Sometimes it will be provided by your employer. If not, then it is up to you to buy a Disability Insurance policy for yourself. If money is tight, getting a Long Term Disability policy is recommended, as it is more unlikely that you can financially survive an extended period without a job, as you would be able to endure a short term disability. If you can afford it, you can purchase both Long and Short Term Disability Insurance.Answered on December 27, 2013flag this answer

However, it may be something you want to purchase. statistics(we all hate them) show a person is more likely to have an accident outside of the workplace where work comp does not apply. Many employers have reduced expenses through cutting benefits and no longer offer disability. Check with your employer before looking for you own place if it is something you desire.Answered on January 30, 2014flag this answer
