Can I Get Disability Insurance If I’m A Contractor?

I was told I can’t.

    YES! In regard to contractors, there are carriers for all professions including contractors. In fact, carriers like Standard, Assurity and Met Life will potentially upgrade a contractor’s occupation class (make the rates cheaper) if the client has been successfully self-employed over a number of years (2-3 depending on the carrier).  Hope this helps!
