The good news is that thanks to advances in modern medicine, many people are surviving then every before. The bad news, Cancer oftens bankrupts survivors. Remember major medical plans or Medicare covers most but not all of your cancer treatment. But you will have significant out of pocket expenses from deductibles and coinsurance which can be paid by a good cancer plan.. More importantly to consider is the lost of income due to the sickness, Cancer treatments like chemotherapy, cancer medication and the disease it's self takes a great toll on the body, leaving suffers unable to work or forcing them to reduce their work schedules to take care of themselves and recover. You medical insurance will not provide you with money to pay your personal expenses like mortgage, food or utilities supplemental cancer plans that pay cash to their policy holders like Afalc, give you money to cover these expenses.Answered on May 23, 2013flag this answer
